1. The short version
Imposter is an offline app operated by SOSA PROJECTS, LLC. It does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data about you.
- No account, sign-up, or login.
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising.
- No third-party SDKs collecting your data.
- No data is sent to us or to anyone else.
- We could not identify you if we wanted to.
2. Data you create
Anything you enter into Imposter — player names, chosen categories, game preferences — is stored locally on your device, inside the app's own storage. It never leaves your device through the app. We have no server, no database, and no way to read it.
Names you type in are for labelling whose turn it is. They are not published, shared between devices, or used to identify anyone.
Deleting the app removes that data from your device. Because we hold no copy, deleted data cannot be recovered by us.
3. Device backups
If you have device backup enabled (such as iCloud Backup or Google Backup), your operating system may include Imposter's data in those backups. Those backups are handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies, not by us.
4. Device permissions
Imposter does not ask for access to your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location, or any other sensitive device data. The game needs none of it, and there is no online play, chat, or messaging to connect you to anyone outside the room.
5. App stores
When you download or update Imposter, the App Store or Google Play may collect information such as download counts and crash reports. That happens between you and the store under their policies. Any such information we can see is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
6. Children
Imposter does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect information at all.
7. Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Your data lives on your device and is under your control.
8. Changes to this policy
If Imposter ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date above. If a future version of the app collects data, that will be disclosed here before it does.
